lead and take ownership

The group prepares for the coming snow expedition in an intense planning session. From menus, ration and utensils to a thorough checklist for braving the cold. Divide and share the load of supplies (‘khachchars’ help with the big stuff). As the days progress, instructors take a step back as the group takes initiative. Learn to work as a team in a new environment—look out for each other, learn to be considerate and share responsibilities of cooking, cleaning, firewood collection and resource management.

“I would like to thank the Inme team for giving my son such a great experience. It was an awesome experience, great practical learning and loads of fun too. He wants to go every year henceforth. He made a lot of new friends, learnt camping skills and also was taught the importance of doing one’s own chores and not to waste food. Thank you all.”

Groups depart from New Delhi at 11:50pm on the Nanda Devi Express (AC 3 tier) and travel to Dehradun. Outstation participants have to reach Delhi on the departure day. Inme provides airport pick up and drop service and meals at an added cost. Alternately, participants can fly into Dehradun to join the program. For this situation, Inme provides an airport pick-up-and-drop service, meals and overnight accommodation at an added cost. The next leg of the journey takes you to our campus in non-AC buses. The road can get a bit bumpy over some uneven stretches, so be prepared! On the way back, we reach New Delhi at 5:30am.

fitness requirements

This program might be more demanding than the usual physical activities you’re used to. We recommend a little jogging, stretching and exercise a few weeks before the departure to gain the flexibility and agility needed to truly enjoy the experience. Do this wearing the shoes you want to carry for the program—it’ll help break into them.
